Find out how to install barrels to catch rain water for the garden and save money on water bills, learn how to use food scraps to help your garden grow, or cut power costs while keeping your home warm, dry and comfortable this winter.
Whau Local Board is funding free workshops for locals to learn how to live more sustainably with low cost, practical options for saving household water, waste or energy.
All you have to do is get 6-10 people together and host a free, practical sustainable living workshop about one of these options in your own home. A tutor is supplied.
If you choose to host a water saving workshop for example, you receive a rain barrel installed at your home without charge, and your friends receive a small giveaway and a discount toward purchasing their own rain barrel kit.
To find out more or to book a workshop (please note that spaces to host workshops are limited): phone Blockhouse Bay Community Centre on 09 626 4980 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
